I have an ongoing claim - no fault of my own. (I am dealing here not with an individual driver, but with the company he drives for - a school transport company). My insurance company tells me that the insurers of this company's fleet of vehicles have gone into liquidation. My insurers will not therefore deal with the company that has gone bust. They tell me I must cover the cost of repairs myself and claim on my comprehensive insurance. Is there anything I can still do to recoup costs? or do I just have to accept 'bad luck', pay my excess and accept the impact on my no claims bonus and, probably, my insurance premium?
