Stamp duty

Hi wonder if anyone can help ?
We are purchasing a new property which is to be our main residence.
We have a small rental portfolio but currently RENT our personal main residence and have done for the last 8 years .

I have searched on government sites etc and I dont believe we need to pay yet our solicitor says we do (i dont have alot of faith in them tbh ) as initially they said we didnt ?
