  • Can my ex force me to go with his childcare plan that is around his shifts?

Hi everyone, can some help me with an issue. My ex is a shift worker and he’s forced me for the last 1.5 yrs to do a childcare plan around his shifts. I work Monday to Friday and I really find it hard to plan my life, my work and even start dating someone new as every week he has out 3 yr old son on different days, times all to suit him. He forces me to see him and his parents as I have to drop my son to them and they all stand at the door intimidating me. I’ve told him I do not want to do this as it upsets me everytime.

can someone tell me if I am forced to stick with what he says or am I being unreasonable to ask for him to have set days each week regardless of his shifts?

many thanks, I just can’t cope with this anymore. He is a police officer and refuses to tell me things and on purpose says and does things to upset me.

I am not qualified but speaking from vague understanding. I think access should be decided legally and both parties have the opportunity to state their case.
It must be an awful situation for your son. I suggest seeking advice from social services or similar organisation. Must stress Im not qualified and you make your own decision. You have a right to your life. I hope some of the knowledgeable people respond.
Do join the forum then you can reply and ask questions. There are some very good people.
