Hi
We completed just under 10k worth of home entertainment work at a private address over a period of 8 days in March 2020 , a few days before lockdown. Have tried contacting the person without any luck- phone is dead email no response. have sent two letters and the last one was a Letter before Court Action. I understand that this part is straightforward.
The other main concern that I have is that the name that he gave I believe is false. I am convinced that it is his house his family were there, the house was being renovated and he advised me that he had a building company. I became suspicious and I checked land registry and companies house and the same named person is registered with both - On balance I believe it to be him, he also fits the age range as a director for his business, he has dissolved and opened another building company since that time.
So my question is when making a claim do I use his real name which I believe to be true and add aka other names that he has used in our texts emails. I guess that we have two hurdles to surmount the name one bothers me more- on the basis that it may get thrown out, or disputed. WE have evidence that the work was completed in the house and the entertainment systems are live and being used.
Advice would be appreciated
many thanks in advance
