Ive been with my gf for nearly a decade, id like to leave her my house in the event of my death. If i just leave it to her in my Will, then i beleive IHT will be due, as my gf(as name suggests) is not my wife or civil partner.
Can i not simply put her name on the land registry doc for the house as a joint tenant with myself? As joint tenants in the event of my death the house simply passes to her. Easy.
If i can put her on the land reg doc as joint tenant...
1. is there a way to do this without getting her involved.
2. will i be able to remove her as joint tenant should the need arise, again without getting her involved.
