I had to quickly move my car in to a space on the left on a narrow road to allow oncoming car to get past but I caught a parked car. I thought my car had scratches on the side as a result and could not see any body damage to the parked car. However when I checked the parked car had a tiny dent so I spoke to the house owner where car was parked but they did not know who owns the car I left my nome and contact number in case the owner of the car knocked at their door. I spoke to police on online chat who said I have done all I can for now. I notified my insurance company too. When u checked my car in day light there was no marks it was just scuff marks which washed off! I wondered how long I will need to wait to see if they contact me?

Thanks for replies. It was dark and I just guessed it but I saw this morning that the car has been moved to another side of the road. But to be honest the dent is tiny and would only be noticeable when washing the car. Also this could be nothing to do with me. I did wonder about speaking to the house owner again to say my car had no marks and to destroy my number as it has not been reported but think am I opening a can of worms by doing so.
