  • Garden pergola, planning permission needed?

As far as I can see, I do not need planning permission for a garden pergola but cannot find a legal definition of garden structures, of which a garden pergola is included.

Do you know where the legal definition of garden structures can be found?

Why do you require a definition of "garden structures"?
AFAIK the term does not appear in any of The Town & Country Planning (general development development) (England) Orders

The best way of finding if you need pp is to apply for a certificate of lawful development.
Comparatively small cost but prevention of future challenge

Maybe it depends how big the pergola is? I can't imagine that the sort you can buy in DIY stores would need planning permission.
