  • Employment contract question

My wife has received a contract for a home care assistant with a small company and the contract says she will be paid a specified amount, but if she is terminated, she will be paid a lesser amount for the hours worked. Is that saying that if she worked her two weeks worth of pay check and was then fired, she would receive the lesser amount for those two weeks of work? If so, is that common or even a legal thing to do?
