  • Engine Blown Out + Voluntary Termination

    Hello,

Just wondering if someone can offer us some advice. My boyfriends 15 plate ford fiesta ecoboost engine blew up the other day and he has only had it for 3 and bit years. His finance ends July 2021 and obviously there is a balloon figure to pay. We want to voluntary terminate the contract as he hasn't gone over the mileage and has been serviced every year. Any help on where we would stand on doing this would be great?

Talk to the finance company, they may have seen other similar incidents as there have been ecoboost engine faults that resulted in compensation to the owners from the manufacturer. If you're in luck then they could potentially treat it as a fault.
