  • Marston clamped car and threatening removal

Just received a call this morning saying my car has been clamped and they’ll tow it if I don’t pay £600. I moved house 2 years ago and forgot to change the v5 address. So, apparently I have two fines that were unpaid. I had no knowledge of this or any court orders.

I am shocked at how they managed to find my car and get my phone number!

They sent a photo of the warrant and I had to pay as I need the car for work.

Was there anything I could or should have done differently? Thank you.

You could try submitting an Out of Time to the Traffic Enforcement Centre which if successful could get your money back but given you know you did not submit your V5 for a change of address is likely to fail.

As for how they found your vehicle - there vans are fitted with ANPR and your phone number probably given to them by the Council.
