  • Steps that need to be followed by the Executor of a Will

Hi, my name is David and I live outside of the UK. I am the appointed Executor of my mother's will and she is going to pass away very soon. I am seeking advice on the steps I need to take to carry out my duties as Executor, I understand it can be quite a complex process. Is there a UK government web-page or some other reliable source of information I can refer to?
Any advice would be appreciated, thankyou.

    and another https://www.ageuk.org.uk/globalasset...ecutor_inf.pdf

Another question if I may; reading through the steps that must be followed by the Executor I see that in cases where Inheritance Tax does'nt have to be paid there is a different document which needs to be submitted to HMRC....but I have'nt been able to ascertain what this document is. Can anybody please advise?

There is a good article here (https://www.co-oplegalservices.co.uk...i-live-abroad/) outlining the practical difficulties you might face and how to overcome them.
This is not a recommendation that you use their services.
