  • Unsecured old debts and CCA

    Hi

hoping to be pointed in the right direction for help and advice of where to go from here.

Over 10 years ago due to various circumstances I ended up in significant debt to 6 companies, credit cards, 1 bank loan and an overdraft on a current account. At the time I had no money to pay so offered token payments of £1 per month which I continued to pay for many years. As the years passed these debts no longer appeared on my credit file but I kept paying token payments. My credit score recovered to a good level.

Though debts still hang over though. The total owed is around £14000, the debts are all no longer with original creditors, most are with Cabot. One was arrow global but recently being lettered by Moorcroft.

I looked for advice with how to get out of this situation about 2 years ago and different forums pointed me towards requesting CCA’s. Only 1 was returned for a Mint credit card. I never heard any more and as the payments had stopped while CCA was requested I’ve not made any payments since that time.

Both companies have recently dramatically increased their attemcontact

    Continued post as posted incomplete

So companies have dramatically increased attempts to contact and demand payment, including involving a company called Resolvecall who have lettered stating they will doorstep call and recently have carried this out. They left as I was not in but posted cards through the door.

I have never had any court papers or action for these debts.

I have read many forums for advice but thought it was easier to post my own situation. I am not in a position to settle these debts in full. I am not sure how to go about getting them off my back either by reduced offers, go back to paying £1 a month or do I ignore and hope for the best.

    Any help greatly appreciated.
