  • Works Van Legality

    Hi, new here.

I occasionally drive a works van that I believe is perfectly legit. But I'm trying to find out how it would effect me if there was something legally amiss with the van that I was unaware of. If, for instance, someone had put red diesel in the van, something that I would be unable to check, and I was pulled up and the fuel tested, would I be liable? One of the problems I have is that I do not want to ask the question of my boss, but I have reasonable grounds to suspect that, at least some, red diesel has been used. It could have been used by a customer (I work in a shop which sells red diesel fuel boxes) who topped up their tractor while on site, but none of the other sales team knows anything about this.

    Any thoughts?

    Matt
