  • PCN for driving in a time sensitive zone

    Hello

I am struggling to find similar scenarios to mine, I was recently issued with two PCN’s within the London Borough of Newham where I work. The violations occurred in Feb/Mar 2020 but I only found out about them yesterday, they were issued for driving in a time sensitive zone around a school, and driving over a bridge that my vehicle is over weight for. As I do not know the area of the East End where I am based I am reliant on a Sat Nav. I only found out about the bridge restriction back in Feb and once I knew of it I have avoided it ever since, so the PCN must be from just before, as for the time restriction zones around some schools I wasn’t aware of these at all. However there are signs which I have missed whilst following my Sat Nav trying to travel around the area, and in some cases the schools are where I have to attend as part of my job. Having looked at the signage they do state the times that I need to avoid and an exception for certain permit holders which normally states a letter and number on a black background. As my vehicle has a parking permit that states ALL, which allows me to park in any bay that has these numbers and letters on a black background I don’t understand how I am not covered. There is a massive back log at Newham Councils enforcement dept and that’s why these PCN’s have just been issued, I am told by my employer that there is no appealing these charges and I am concerned that I may have more coming though as I was not aware of these zones. Obviously it’s my own fault for not reading the signage but when you are in a strange area going from one appointment to the next it is sometimes hard to look at every sign post.

Any help of advice would be well received
