  • Lay Representative

    Hi Everyone.

    Thanks for reading this.

Im a litigant in person and suing a UK limited company. It’s currently via the Small claims track. We have a short 10min hearing to help determine the correct track (the Defendant is throwing out bags of subterfuge and over complicating the claim). Anyway, I have severe wide spectrum dyslexia. It effects both reading/writing as well as phonological processing (I can’t understand what people say). Can I have a family member be with me (as a Lay Representative), not to represent me but to just read things out aloud when I need them to? And if so, do I/they need to apply or complete a form? I’ve seen an A2 from but it only applies to Scottish law. How does it work in the rest of the uk????

    Cheers
