Can you get sent to prison if you buy a knife online and then cancel it because you find out it is an Ilegal knife. Even though the purchase was cancelled the knife was still being delivered but seized by customs

If this is all you did, then prison is highly unlikely.

If this is your first Customs 'offence' then they may send you a Warning Letter saying that if you do something similar in the next two years you'll have to pay a penalty (max £1,000) or, depending on the circumstances, be prosecuted.

Even if they don't send you a Warning Letter you should get a Seizure Notice explaining why it was seized and the process to get it destroyed.

I didn’t get any sort of letter from customs. I had the police phone me to go in for a voluntary interview. The police said it had been seized by customs. That’s why I’m worried

Ah. That's new information. Thank you.

I suggest you go to the interview, accept their offer of free and independent legal advice, and take any screen prints, emails, bank statements etc that show when you cancelled the order.

Thank you, what do you think they will do.

That's impossible, and not my place, to say. Ask your solicitor when you go for the interview.

But, as I said at the beginning, if that's all you've done then prison is highly unlikely.
