Hello,
We left the UK back in Feb to go travelling for 6 months, we purchased backpacker travel insurance prior to departing. When in Australia the PM announced that all backpackers should return home, we therefore contacted the travel insurance who said we would be covered up to £2k per person under our policy to get home early. We have this in writing and took a screenshot. Since returning home we have logged a claim with the insurance and they have come back and said that we aren't covered despite us providing evidence that one of their employees said we would be covered.
we have now lodged a complaint with them...but as of yet still haven't heard anything back. Are you able to provide me with an advice ? Do you think we should get them money back?
Thank you.
