  • BT= default recorded without final bill or intention to default letter

    Hi,

    History:
    BT Sport subscription since 2014
Online "my BTID" not working for me since signing up.
I ended my account with BT Sport earlier this year. I asked for the final bill to be provided and address details to be updated as they only had my old address details.
No final bill or intention to default was sent to me.
Found out through Experian they have default against me.
On finding out I called BT immediately and asked for details on what happened.
I also paid the amount and got a discount as they said I could have never seen the final bill as I didn't get access to "MY BTID"

Requested Experian to contact BT on behalf of me to ask for a correction and got waved off.
Now BT asked me to send a "Request for Clearance letter by postal email.

What can I do to increase my chances to have my default removed?
The default will affect me getting new jobs as I primarily work in financial services.

Default amount was for 69 pounds.
