  • Hello one and all

So I run three small businesses all of which have been impacted by COVID-19 and I usually refer to a local solicitors firm for advice but that's not a cheap option, it's not in my nature to take risks so a large firm of accountants do my finances from bookkeeping to payments and everything in between, but I thought times are tough so I'll see what the quality of this type of forum is like, and after reading many of the posts I thought it looked very professional and helpful, so I signed up and here I am.

I know a little bit about property law and contracts so that's where I might be able to help a little

Any contribution is welcome if it helps - sometimes questions on here is not just about the legal side, and quite often users are looking for a practical solution than black letter law.

Hello Rob and thanks for the help you are providing to all of us. I have just done a VT. I challenged the damage charges they wanted to make using the template letter. They agreed that all the charges for damage to the car should not apply apart from one for a dent that I caused and had already agreed to pay. Now in response to the template letter about excess mileage, they are saying that I signed a contract to pay excess mileage either at the end of, or on early termination, of my contract. I have checked and it seems that I did. Am I now obliged to pay? They are referring me to a debt collection agency next week.

I didn't intentionally add mine to a previous post. I am still trying to work out how to add my own post separately.
