  • Family court - unsure of rules during lockdown

Hi Everyone. I've been going through family court during lockdown (with remote hearings via phone). I'm now unsure of what to do as my ex is pressuring me to let him see our 2 year old in person.

My daughter and her father were seing each other at a Contact Centre once a week before lockdown. But since lockdown he hasn't seen her at all, only on video calls. In May the court dismissed my accusations against him of (mainly verbal and emotional) abuse, didn't think a fact-finding hearing was necessary, and ruled that once contact centres reopen, we are to do 12 more weeks of contact centres, before the further directions hearing. Until then it has also ruled we continue the x 3 a week video calls.

Because the contact centres aren't yet open my ex is saying I should let him see our daughter in person & claiming it will look good in court. I'm concerned it will be used by his barrister to claim I'm inconsistent (and not scared of him/the victim of his abuse). I'm also concerned that it hasn't been specified by the court that we progress contact in this way. Any advice most gratefully received. Thank you
