Hi, I am ashamed to say this but I stupidly tried to shop lift from b and q and I got caught.

They did not call the police and I returned all the items. I have been banned from all their stores for a year, md I signed a piece of paper saying I understood this and then I was let go.

I have just received a letter from RLP requesting a sum just under £200 as a reduced amount so they can "settle the claim quickly and out of court" and if I dont pay this within 14 days they will increase the amount to the full with was over £200.

As I said I returned all items and was most likely with the security and management for less that 30 minutes. However the attempted theft was just under £300.

What should I do? Again no police were involved.

Need reassurance as I am on benefits, no job, 2 kids and suffer from borderline personality disorder.

    Thank you in advance

    What should you do?
    Do nothing!
RLP are a self appointed judge and jury who try to extract money from their victims by using legal sounding language and making veiled threats.

This incident will go no further.
B&Q lost nothing, you owe nothing.
RLP can do nothing but write a series of letters
Just search on here for RLP and you'll find lots of threads with the same story.
