  • When is it classed as harrassment

Hi, I need some advice. Long story short, I fell out with a girl and got blocked, shut out, whatever you want to call it. About 2 weeks later I called this person twice, I had sent 2 polite messages, on social media and by text message to try to reconcile. To my surprise I got the extreme reply of 'one more message or call and I'll call the police'. This was back in early June. I naturally said nothing else and left it. Now roll on to August. I still feel angry about how coldly I was treated. I do not want to harass this person but I really would like to tell them what I think. These days though, I am genuinely worried. If I wrote a criticising message without being abusive, could it constitute harassment?

Whether or not it is classed as harassment you obviously are concerned it might be, so do not pursue the matter.

The relationship is over, for whatever reason, and she does not want to hear from you.

If you do make contact, and she reports it as harassment you will have police on the doorstep making enquiries.

    Just not worth the hassle.

It may be an offence of harassment if you know contacting again her might cause her "alarm or distress." Which seems likely bearing in mind she told you not to in no uncertain terms.

I suggest you put this behind you and move on with your life. We've all been there.
