Is this bribery?

Hello - this is my first time posting and I have a complex case. I will start with one question which might be simple!
My ex partner (not business) offered me £5,000 in writing in an email and text messages if I did not pursue a harassment and defamation case against his wife. He has never paid me the £5,000 and I did not pursue the claim even though I think I would have won it with the amount of evidence I have against her. Is this bribery and what should I do about it if it is? Thank you for any answers you might have.

I do not think it's bribery. It was the settlement of a dispute, before proceedings issued. Your remedy is to issue proceedings to enforce the settlement.
