My Daughter is being billed for gas directly by her Landlord and the bills have no information on who supplies the gas or how the sums have been calculated despite her requesting this information on numerous occasions. The prices are extortionate and so she has only paid what she thinks is reasonable. The Landlord is now taking her to Court for the full sum.
I believe the Landlord’s failure to supply the information requested is contrary to Section 37 of the Gas Act 1986 so I’m surprised by the Landlord’s action as they’re not small and run numerous apartment blocks. Has anyone had any experience of defending such an action in Court? Any help would be much appreciated.
