  • bathroom ceilling damage

    Hi all,

Some time ago the ceiling of my bathroom showed damp and I called the plumber who told me that the neighbour upstairs has a leak. I spoke to the neighbour and they fixed the leak. Meanwhile my bathroom ceiling is rotten and has to be repaired. I called the real estate agent (my neighbours are renting and I own my property) and they told me that my insurance has to speak to insurance of the landlord. I just found out that my home insurance was not automatically renewed.
What should I do now? Can the landlord above just get away with this? Will I end up paying the damages myself?

    Thanks,

    Naveen

Even if you have insurance, you do not need to make a claim through them.
Get quotes to repair the damage and send them to the landlord's agents, and tell them you expect them to pick up the bill.
    end of!
