Hopefully someone within your organisation will be able to help me out.
I have recently actioned a voluntary termination of a car i had on finance with close brothers motor finance.
It is now two weeks since it was collected and i have receieved a bill from them for £615 for damages.
The damage is not major bar a few minor scrapes and scratches and one scrape in their photos that does not appear in my photos so looks a bit suspicious.
I had approx 8k paid on an 11k agreement for approx 3k owed at time of vt. Now the car went for auction on the 15th with a guide price of 3.1k.
I dont think the scrapes and scratches are beyond fair for the age and mileage of the car (2013 and 97k miles).
So i am very anxious to get some advice on what best to do?
Surely if they sold the car for 3k then the have broke even and are not at a loss? And if they are sending me a damage report now two weeks later and thr car sold on the 15th then again they arent out any money?
Any help or advice would be really really appreciated as this is adding alot of stress to an already stressful period with work etc following lock down.
