An Uber delivery driver had delivered the food to the wrong address by mistake, he'd gone into the streets and seen a group of men who then claimed that it was their order, so he gave it. The customers say they want to file a formal complaint. However, when the driver tried to go back to the restaurant to see if he could rectify the order, it was closing time. The driver explained he can't fix the order, only thing they can do is put a complaint through Uber so they can get a refund.
The customer replies to ''So if you come and give me the £30 which I paid for the order we will forget about it." The customer clearly wanted the driver to pay out of his own pocket. The driver declined and sent a link the the uber eats website to apply for refund/complaint. The customer later on replies "Made a formal complaint against u as a driver we will not be using uber eats again''
When the driver asked the customer ''I apologize, it's my fault, but I don't see why you are getting the police involved when you can simply get a refund?'' The customer replied with "Because I wanted food not a refund and its classified as fraud."
Is the driver in legal trouble?
