Freelance or Sole Practitioner Solicitors

Hello,

It's my understanding there is a list of freelance or sole practitioner solicitors. Tried Law Society Find a Solicitor but it doesn't give you the appropriate info.

Does anyone know where you can get this list? Hoping they might be more reasonable price wise. Thank you.

I'm not sure that there are any solicitors actually acting completely freelance at the moment.
The problem centres around the difficulty of obtaining appropriate indemnity insurance, without which they cannot operate.
Insurers are concerned at the lack of clarity from SRA about what is required.

Solicitors who wish to remain freelance tend to work as consultants under the umbrella of an existing firm
