  • LLOYDS BANK PRESSURING 2 SELL 'mortgage protection insurance fail [not same as PPI]

Dear Members NEED YOUR URGENT ADVICE
FOS Aware but not responded 2 our callsand complaint registration with them January

We've found out/been lead to believe that our decades old MORTGAGE PROTECTION INS POLICY 1992 to 2010-was- mis-sold.

In fact we are ''end of term'' on our Endowment mortgage, LLOYDS wont extend as we dont fit the banks Algorithms for a remortgage
We owe A LOT , however the sum -should-be less & Should have been - half - paid off,
when we tried to claim on it - Over decade ago.
we cant and arent in a position to pay 141000 in one hit??
    BUT here's the thing
    A] In the first instance.
I Rang the policy providers as to how we should claim. I was brainstormed with questions....we'll get back to you via post.
-Four weeks later nothing had come thru the post SO i rang again
Only to be told 'the policy had been cancelled , but they could not tell us BY WHOM???
.but we'd had this protection for almost thirty years
B] We persisted and eventually An advisor told us that it would never have been valid to claim on - as husband was technically a ''contracted worker''.
and there was nothing they could do or would do for us and we needed to stop enquiries.
    yet
they knew he worked on many overseas contracts and always took our premiums

WE ARE BEING HARASSED HARD TO SELL this fully disabled adapted home and we are Shielding until a vaccine anyway

    thought and suggestion
    regards
    nain kelly

If the op tried to claim a decade ago and failed to pursue the matter at that time any claim for misselling may well be time barred.

I did not read post as a claim for misselling but as a declined claim against the policy, which was then cancelled by some unknown person.
The latter part in itself is dodgy as only the parties to the contract can cancel it.

Agree the timings might be another problem, but to start with let us get to the heart of the matter*

It was possible at one time to claim against the insurance company for mis-selling of the endowment policy. This is particularly true if the policy was a low cost endowment.

You may need to speak to an independent mortgage broker to see if there is a deal for you.
