  • Deed of trust

Hi - thanks for having me.
When i bought my second house with my now wife, we apparently drew up a deed of trust, or made a statement on the transfer document as to the splits in shares, as all the capital was from the sale of my house.
There was various meetings and emails to iron out the wording, but I never actually saw the final document or deed.
6 years down the road and a stressful lockdown has started to show cracks in our marriage and I'm suddenly panicking to whether the wording made it into the legal papers. the reason i even question is that the solicitors were friends of my wife.
I'm sure I'm probably paranoid, but to settle my concerns, can anyone advise what document I need to check and where I can obtain it?
The last correspondence i had from the solicitors was as follows:

Please see below the proposed wording that I intend to insert into the Transfer document. Could you confirm you are in agreement with it?
“they are to hold the property on trust: as Tenants in Common in the following shares: As to 30% of the gross proceeds of sale to ******. As to the remainder to ****** and ******* in equal shares.”

    Thanks in advance
    J

When I married in 1975, we made no such 'agreement'. We married in faith. Whilst I have not been the best of, or the worst, we are still together now after 45 years. Its down to trust. anyone who make an 'agreement' implies there is no trust in their marriage - America is famous for it. Because I love my wife as much as when I first saw her, even more, if for any reason we split, she can have everything and I woulds hit the street. With nothing, she is worth it. I am now nearly 71, I dont fancy my chances on the streets, at my age, with the scum that frequent the streets, but am happy that she has it all.
