  • Solicitor/Executor Error

My wife is a beneficiary in her fathers will. We have received no written confirmation of an amount however the solicitor/Executor told her an amount of £20k on a visit to their office. On getting a copy of the will from Probate we now find that this is only £15k. They have partially admitted their error and apologised. Is their anything we can do as we are now 5K less than was expected?

    Unfortunately errors do occur.
So your wife has received less than she expected, but will receive the correct amount.

Why do you both think you should be able to do something, and what do you think should be done?
