  • Adding name to title deeds

My husband and I bought our house over 25 years ago but needed a small lump sum to buy at auction which one of my husbands relatives agreed to pay but they wanted the property to be solely in my husbands name. We paid back the relative and have now cleared our mortgage.* We've not thought about the fact that the property is solely in my husbands name, until now. He's been diagnosed with cancer and has completely his first stage of chemo. He's having a major 10 hour operation later this month.* My question is we want to get my name added to the property. Is it simply a case of paying a fee to the land registry and filling out their relavent forms or do we need to do it through a solicitor etc.* Many thanks
