  • Lowell debt, old 3 account

    Hi everyone,

I’m in need for a little help as I’m being harassed by Lowell group about a £89 debt for an assumed old 3 account.
I received the first letter in January and being surprised by an old account being overdue (dating back 2015) I asked for more details in an e-mail. All I’ve gotten was an automated response asking for my date of birth, address and full name.(I replied saying I’m not giving away personal
    information)
since then I’ve been keep getting the same letters, and it even showed up as default on my credit report (default date being October 2018?!) why did it show up just now, and how do I know if they are telling the truth?

Today I just received a 50% discount offer.
I’ve sent a prove it letter to the same e-mail address but the same automated message came back with no copes or proof that the debt is actually mine.

is it a scam, is it real? How can I find out or deal with the default on my credit report?

Sounds pretty standard to me .

If you are not aware of the debt, then you can write to lowells and ask them for further information about the debt to satisfy yourself that it is bona-fide and correct. you are entitled to ask for this information , this is clear from the FCA guidance on debt recovery, so you are entitled to ask questions
