    Hi all,
    I will try to keep this brief but if anyone needs anything to be fleshed out, I will be happy to try fill anything required. This coming August 6 years ago I used Claims Advisory Group (CAG) to look for PPI payment on my family car which I had am sure on the vehicle, in a Nut shell. They called me, we talked, I agreed for them to look for it, it was with Volkswagen and they would look into it. The Adviser had to send out a form pack, which was hand written with the details that had been discussed and what they would be done. At this time, the form was clear, as I had discussed in detail that I was ONLY interested in finding the PPI with VW. The forms stated this, I signed them etc etc and off it went. Months later I received a letter saying they had been unsuccessful and that was that. Until..... Further weeks after, I received another letter, saying I was successful! BUT for PPI with an old bank... which I already knew about and was already at the stage of being paid out, as my now wife, had worked for banks for over 15 years and knew all the hoops that needed to be jumped. I obviously called CAG and advised they had not been authorised to look for this and that they need to stop. Obviously this is where all the problems of today started. CAG have been verbally abusive, aggressive and insulting over the phone years ago, even coming from two so called "Managers". They delighted in telling me no calls are recorded and that they can and will claim for anything they wish regardless of anything written. For years I have had different Debt companies attempt to called the "debt" that CAG state is owed, each time I contacted the Debt company and after much arguing and making clear there is no physical recordings or legitimate evidence, they usually went away. Only 1 piece of evidence from CAG appeared and it was a poorly scanned document, where the hand writing of the advise stating VW PPI had been removed and electronic font now stated "HSBC BANK PPI" and with a signature that has been blatantly tampered with, as you can see a trace outline around what is my signature. Overall about 4 company's over the 6 years have contacted me and after lengthy back and fourth's they go away. SADLY not this time. A company called MoriartyLaw has filed a court proceeding against me. They have lied to the court stating that they have been in communication with me, which they have not and I have responded to the courts, trying to provide as much detail as possible, going vastly more detailed to them, than here and stating the abuse, the no other form of evidence and the clearly tampered file. They have recently responded advising at they are contacting the relevant party to advise they have received my defence but sadly due to the time's we are living in, I had already received MoriartyLaw's response to me (the first letter received!) in advise of the courts stating their "client" will be going ahead with the court action. The court letter states that it's up to the parties to resolve this issue, ML have gone straight to court and not dealt with me at all and am worried. What in my eyes is clearly a case of fraud and I "think" there is a time period where CAG can attempt to claim this is coming to an end? 6 years possibly? that this one company has rushed to the court gates in hopes to catch the time period before it expires. I feel any court with any small amount of common sense would read my statement and agree it's a farce but in my life experience what is straight forward and simple turns out to be a nightmare. I don't know if I should be seeking true real legal support to battle a £400 odd debt that I refuse to acknowledge due to how I have been spoken to and treated and wasn't even what I asked for! the fact CAG have falsified a document and laughed at not providing me phone evidence which would have closed this out right. I don't want to get caught out in some rubbish legal gap or because am just a regular Joe that the courts will favour a proper legal respondent over me. At this stage I don't know what is happening.. Courts acknowledge the defence and ML have advised they are going ahead, even though the courts state they should be attempting to contact me to "resolve" the complaint which the have completely skirted and ignored doing! Any advise/help is extremely appreciated.

    Although I think Claims Advisory Group were authorised in the past to provide claims management services when Ministry of Justice were the regulator, they're certainly not authorised now - see https://register.fca.org.uk/ShPo_Una...X00004ltnYNQAY

    However if they were authorised when you dealt with them they would still have the right to collect 'debts' even though they're not authorised now. However it may be worth including the above link in your witness statement (given that you've already filed your defence).
