    Hi
I have VT my Mercedes and they are trying to charge £850 as it one have one service in 3 years it had not gone over its mileage I have requested a break down on the cost which they say they cant do part is for no service or not kept up to date services and some for the loss on the value
This is what I would like to know the car was sent straight to auction so the value is only what someone is prepared to pay so how can the value be lost if the car had gone onto the forecourt then I would agree

    thoughts please

no, the vehicle has a value regardless of how it’s being sold. Even when you trade your car in with the dealership, it does not mean that the vehicle will go on the forecourt. It may be auctioned as well and dealership may be selling it at the loss.

Same applies to your situation - They are expecting that the vehicle will sell for a certain amount, which may or may not have dropped due to lack of service history, but they will only get the amount that someone is wiling to pay. Which may be lower or may be higher than anticipated.

I would suggest you to check the manufacturers standards regarding servicing and see what’s the recommended time interval if the vehicle is not exceeding the mileage. And would argue with the finance company that one service was sufficient given the mileage of the vehicle
