  • Fined for Charging electric car

I stopped at a service station to charge to the car. This took a long while as, firstly, I had to register (that took ages) then I left it on charge (that took ages) only to find that charging had stopped, failing to give enough charge to reach home.
I had, by this time run out of phone battery, too.
I had to seek another customer to use their phone to speak to the Car Club who own the car. That conversation took ages.
All in all I was there for longer that the 2 hours free.
I've been charged a fine for overstaying.
Do you think I can appeal?

Yes, there are quite a few instances of this going on. If you google some of the electric car clubs e.g. Leaf and Tesla, they all have experience of this problem. Appeal the ticket but also speak to the garage/charging network and ask if they can assist in getting the fine cancelled.
"Although scalar fields are Lorentz scalars, they may transform nontrivially under other symmetries, such as flavour or isospin. For example, the pion is invariant under the restricted Lorentz group, but is an isospin triplet (meaning it transforms like a three component vector under the SU(2) isospin symmetry). Furthermore, it picks up a negative phase under parity inversion, so it transforms nontrivially under the full Lorentz group; such particles are called pseudoscalar rather than scalar. Most mesons are pseudoscalar particles." (finally explained to a captivated Celestine by Professor Brian Cox on Wednesday 27th June 2012 )
