Cp plus ticketing

I received a parking ticket today 20th march 2020, the ticket is for staying a the Moto lodge and parking was paid for. The date I stayed was 19/10/2019 it has taken 5 months for them to write to me. I have no proof I paid as this was over 5 months ago. Do I have to pay? The travel lodge cant go back that far, but said to appeal?
