Hi, I am seeking advice on the following:
At eh end of January I purchased an overnight parking ticket via the Ringo app, receiving confirmation on the app, an SMS and an email.* The next morning I had a parking ticket from SABA.* I went onto their website and raised an appeal via their online process.* I did not receive a response.**
I have now had a letter from a different firm, ZZPS, stating the balance now owed has jumped from £30 to £130 that they are 'instructed to continue to pursue the matter'.* i called them and they advised the appeal had been deemed unsuccessful by SABA, who are claiming they told me that by email (I have no record of any email) and so the money was owed. ZZPS said they did not care that i had actually paid for the parking and had evidence as they were just there to pursue SABA's claim. The only options the person i spoke to would offer were for me to pay or let the matter proceed to being allocated to a solicitor and potentially to court.* I have tried to call SABA but just been met with 'you can only appeal online', which i have already done.
I find this whole thing quite scary but am determined not to pay an inflated fee that I do not owe.* Any advice om how to progress would be very welcome!
