  • Fencing Issue

Majority of fence blew down between myself and neighbour. He admits it is his responsibility and paid for fence to be taken away. Remaining part of fence is in good condition which he renewed 3 years ago. He says he will replace the damaged fence with some cheap edging which I think will look terrible. He then said he would replace to same standard as fence that blew down if I paid half. I think this is reasonable and agreed to it.*
He now says that I will be* jointly responsible for its maintenance as I have paid half towards its cost.*
I dispute this as under title deeds boundary is shown with T Mark on his property with express obligation to maintain a boundary fence. Just because I contribute towards his fence doesn't mean I become responsible for half its maintenance.
Am I correct in saying this?
