I took my wife to a pub so that she could say goodbye to her sister who was travelling, I parked up but remained in my car with the engine running the whole time. On entering the car park, I did not see any signs regarding parking fees nor did I see any pay machines. I have visited that same pub many times over the past 7 years and never had to pay.
A couple of weeks after Ireceived a PCN from Britannia Parking for £100, I was advised by a close friend who works for a council parking team to ignore it as it wasn’t backed by any law and they could not enforce the PCN.
i have since received a letter from BW legal stating that I now owe £160 and that if I do not pay then they would take me to court.

has anyone had the same experience and what have you done? I’m worried as I do not want any CCJ against my name. TIA

To get a CCJ recorded against you they have to take you to court, you have to lose and not pay the sum within 30 days.

Edit so that the identity of the driver cannot be inferred, use "the driver ......" etc.

Post up the redacted PCN but leave the dates.

Is you "friend" going to pay for you?
