I'm not sure if I'm in the right place but I'm hoping someone can help. My husband and I were referred to a solicitor for personal injury. The solicitors communication throughout the case has been abysmal to say the least since the RTC occurred in 2018. However, I received an email saying a settlement had been reached and my bank details were requested for transfer of monies. I had never been sent the official offer and in the initial email no amount was disclosed. So I emailed the solicitor and my husband attempted to.contact her by phone and text, but nothing from her. I emailed her the day after, again requesting the original correspondence from the insurance as I am aware she will take a cut but I wanted to be sure she isn't take more than she should be. She replied saying she had had a death in the family and I left it at that. I then took a call from her, where she was extremely rude and unprofessional stating she will be sending me and my husband pictures of her deceased relative. I told her this was unwarranted and not something I wished to see. She stated my husband had been abusive and threatened her. She continued to speak over me, not willing to listen and basically told me there was no point going to the legal ombudsman as we were.planning to as she hadnt done anything wrong. In the phone call she stated she has posted the letter out to me and then stated she doesnt need to show it to me, i told her it was my legal right. I have since seen the messages from my husband to her, they were not at all abusive or threatening and she has still sent him pictures of her deceased cousin. I* wishing to move my case to another firm as I am utterly shocked that a so called professional would behave this way. Also, is it worth reporting the pictures to the police as they were very distressing to see? Any help with this would be appreciated*

Why not make a formal written complaint to the solicitor, (ask for a copy of their complaints procedure) if the matter still cannot be resolved*then back up with an escalated complaint to the ombudsman service and let the ombudsman service decide whether or not the solicitor behaved badly or not.
It will cost the solicitor if the ombudsman has to investigate a complaint. *however the cost to the solicitor may be waived if found that they had behaved reasonably. *there is no cost to you to escalate the complaint to the ombudsman if necessary as i understand it. *My fingers are crossed for you getting this sorted.
