  • Damaged reputation

    Hi all

First time post so apologies if not relevant to anything lol.

I was headhunted at the end of 2013 to work for a company *as their UK sales manager (they took me on based on my 15 years experience in this industry).

Come May 2015, I had accrued sales which were meeting expectations and beyond, and the current sales book looked incredibly strong with new customers as well as current ones.

due to the fact my then employer didn’t react when advised by me to ensure stock of goods were ordered and ready to despatch for customers’ expected, there was a huge shortfall in fulfilling dales orders for customers (approx 85% of the orders weren’t fulfilled). Then out of the blue my employer pulled me in for meeting where they confirmed they were no longer pursuing this industry and were concentrating on other business interests, so they let me go.

i didn’t receive any compensation or redundancy as I hadn’t been with the company long enough, and to add insult to injury the customers ordered elsewhere.

i tried to find employment in the same industry, but unfortunately my reputation (as the face of the company) was destroyed and no other business has been interested in taking me on, despite my years of experience. I tried to start up on my own but all of the customers (and others) have since refused to work with me as they have told me I can’t be trusted to deliver and fulfil orders, all because of the issue outlined above.

i wondered if I had grounds to sue said company for damages reputation?

    All help is appreciated*
