Hello,
9 months ago we had new kitchen units supplied by Howdens and fitted by an independent kitchen fitter, a few weeks ago we noticed the strips on the outside of 3 of the doors were coming off.* We contacted Howdens and they sent someone to inspect them, he looked at them and said they were "blown", took some pictures and said he would need to send them to their QA dept and would then be in contact to let us know what happens next.*
We had to chase them several times but today we received an email from them saying they have not had a definite answer from their QA dept but as a "goodwill" gesture they would be prepared to supply new doors but not cover the cost of having them fitted.
The kitchen is supposed to have a 10 year guarantee so my question is should they be paying to have the replacement doors fitted or is that our responsibility? I would have thought that they should cover it as the only reason they need replacing is they are faulty, not our fault or the fault of the installer.
Thanks.*
