  • CCJ set aside hearing

    Good afternoon,

First post here, so please excuse my naivety and lack of knowledge!

I am attending a CCJ hearing later this month due to receiving a judgement by default. The creditor sent papers to an old address and I therefore did not receive them and did not have any opportunity to defend the case, which i would have done if i had received the papers.
The courts agreed to my set aside hearing so that's great. I'm just questioning what exactly i need to do at this set aside hearing. Do i simply go there to explain why i didn't get the papers and if they agree the case goes back to pre CCJ? or do i have to defend the whole case at this hearing? I ask as i have received a very long witness statement from the creditor regarding an alleged debt. Do i need to put in a defence now and my witness statement? and if so, do i need to be sending documents off to the court and the claimant prior to the set aside hearing?

    Thanking you in advance!*
