  • Potential dismissal due to personal reasons

https://legalbeagles.info/forums/for...rsonal-reasons*hi guys, that’s my previous post, I’m sorry I couldn’t figure out how to reply so I just decided to create a new thread instead. So I’m not sure if our company has a policy about managers/employees relationship. We do have an hr department. It’s a big company and there any many managers above him. Plus I’m sure he’ll try to look for reasons to sack me. Atm he’s just completely avoiding me at work, but I’m just interested in case he tries to sack me what should I do ? And 2 years of my employment will be in one month. Thank you.

If you want to continuing to reply/post on a thread then you will need to register on the site, which is quick and easy.

Firstly you need to find out if there is a policy in regard to manager/employee relationships - this will help with the support I can provide. The sooner you can do this the better. *

You may want to let the HR department know that your job has been threatened due to the fact that you have ended a relationship with this manager. How you approach this subject with HR would be dependent on whether there is a policy in place i.e. if there is you would be admitting that you both went against company policy and there may be consequences as a result for both of you. If not then at least the company is put on notice if he did try to find a reason to sack you.

As a word of warning since you have less than two years service you can be "fairly dismissed" without any reason being given unless their is the potential of a discrimination claim. Hence the reason for you maybe speaking to someone in HR about the situation.

Hope you manage to get registered and can reply back on this thread
