  • High court enforcement officer came to my house and I have no idea what it's about

I live in an apartment block and got home this evening, whereupon the concierge told me a high court enforcement officer (wearing bodycam etc.) had been waiting for me to give me a letter or serve me a notice or something.
I'm very shocked by this as I have, and have never, to my knowledge had any debt whatsoever, and certainly never had any letters, email, phone calls or correspondence about any debt I owe to anyone. I'm assuming they will come back, but when they do I've got no idea how to handle the situation. What do I do? Any help or advice would be greatly recieved.

To start with you need to check your credit history to see if you have any CCJs against you. If there are and greater than £600 then the chances are this is what it will be about.

Thanks for replying Ploddertom. I did a credit check on experion and my rating was 910, and ran a ccj check which came back totally blank. So I'm completely baffled as to what this could be about.

Does anyone know what other matters a court officer would be coming to my flat with a letter and no prior warning at all for? Could it be a scam?
It was a man (by himself) in a suit, late 40s (ish) with a letter and a bodycam on him. The concierge spoke to him. He htought maybe it was a bit sus. Then they changed shift, and the man waited for about an hour and a half. He was escorted to my apartment door to knock on it but obviously I wasn't there.
