  • Newlyn Towed car away! on Private Land

Please i need expert help regarding a situation am involved in. A friend of my travelled on holiday and parked his car at my flat which is on a private land, but on returning from work i found out his car was gone and no letter or notice was left to inform me of who took it. I had to call the police and they informed me of what happened and gave me the baiillifs contact number.

I explained to him the car is not mine and am looking after it for a friend who travelled and he has no right to come clamp or towed the car away from a private land. He told me he has a court order that gave him the right to and also to the location. I demanded to see the court order but he refused to show and send me any proof,

have read several article about how bailiffs are not allowed to clamp cars on private land as long as its not the registered keepers address or where he resides which in this case, both do not apply.

please i need help regarding this situation as the bailiff won't co-operate and thinks i don't know my right.

You say it is private land - can you elaborate? Unfortunately it will be up to your friend to do all the running to find out how and why this has happened.
