Hi I have fallen victim to a £5000 APP scam. On reporting the scam to the bank they straight away told me I would not get the money back, then said I had been "grossly negligent" (which is a term used in the CRM APP scam code and extremely subjective!) and refused to refund my money. I pushed it back and after a 2 hour phone call, 3 days later the bank admitted (in writing) that they had not met the standards required by the APP code and could have done more to protect and advise me prior to making the payment but would only refund me £2500. Anyone on here have any advise on this pls? Should I push back again or just go to the financial ombudsman? I have attached the code for reference, thank you

I would take it forward to the ombudsman if they have said it is their final resolution.
Have they given a reason exactly why they feel they should only reimburse 50%? Presumably due to this...
Where one Firm only has breached the SF and the Customer has not met their requisite level of care, each liable party will accept equal responsibility. The Customer will receive a 50% reimbursement from the liable PSP
How soon after making the payment did you realise it was a scam and report to action fraud and the banks?

I really don't know if this is the case, but why did you buy this CRM app anyway? I don't say that you did something wrong, but there is a whole lot of free or semi-free CRM apps on the internet, which you can use for business. For example, I used Asana for about half of a year, then switched it to Trello. I decided to do that when I saw an article about asana alternatives. Why don't you just use Trello? Or the app you were talking about implied something specific?Last edited by MrSandman; 5th February 2020, 21:38:PM.
