Hello, this is my first post, & it concerns parking.
My wife & our daughter with her [2] chidden & I were in Falmouth & we parked at Maritime car park, a private owned site. First I knew was receiving a First Reminder notice for a parking offence, £100 fine. The original parking charge notice did not arrive, so I could not choose the discounted amount of £60, even if I agreed with it. I wrote to them to let them know. They did not reply, the second reminder arrived, then the legal demand from their collection agency, PP Legal. Bill now £170, with threats of civil action thru' the courts. At this time Premier Park sent me a copy of the original parking charge notice, with a note saying they could not do anything as it was in the hands go the collection agency. According to their timings we were 16 mins. over the time we paid for. But they time it from when we enter & leave the park. Which doesn't seem right, perhaps it is legally, but no way morally ! Any idea's on how to fight this ?
