need some information on a judgement

Hi all
I am looking for some information on what to do about a judgement that is against my husband, from an old business of his and my name is not on it.
the collection agency has levied my bank account and i want to know if tjey can collect from me even though this is not my debt. also my husband has had a stroke and no longer works and is homebound. we are financially devastated and bancrruptcy is not an option for us. does anyone know how to stop this collection?

Hello and welcome to Legal Beagles.

Can you give us more detail, for example, have you actually received a Court Judgment or is it a letter from a debt collector? Judgments can only be issued by a Court and only after a process has been followed and you will have been informed and had several opportunities to respond prior to any actual judgment being granted.

Please also elaborate on what and how the collection agency have levied your bank account, have they taken money and if so, how much and under what authority?
